Casa-Mar'e

Project Description
"Casa Maré "House of tides, is a contemporary tropical beach house envisioned as a private retreat where architecture, landscape, and the sea come together in a quiet and relaxed setting. Inspired by the natural rhythm of the tides, the design creates a seamless connection between indoor living spaces and the coastal environment. The house is kept low and horizontally oriented, allowing it to sit naturally within the landscape while maximizing views, natural light, and sea breezes. Extensive glass openings blur the boundary between interior and exterior, while the generous covered veranda provides a shaded space for lounging, dining, and enjoying the surrounding scenery.
Natural materials such as warm timber, textured stone, and glass establish a calm, earthy character that complements the tropical setting. The broad roof overhangs provide protection from the intense coastal sun and rain while reinforcing the house's light and understated architectural expression.

Design Approach
The surrounding landscape is intentionally retained as part of the experience, with existing rocks, tropical vegetation, and coconut palms framing the residence. Rather than competing with its setting, Casa Maré is designed to belong to it—offering a simple place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the ever-changing character of the sea.
Deep overhangs and cross-ventilated layouts reduce reliance on mechanical cooling.
